About FlexCareers

FlexCareers is a curated remote job board for working parents, caregivers, and anyone whose calendar is shaped by people who can't reschedule themselves.

Why we exist

The remote work conversation got loud in 2020 and has been quietly hollowing out ever since. Most "remote" job boards now mix in "hybrid (3 days in office)" roles, "remote within 50 miles of HQ," and full-time-with-9am-standups positions that look the same to a parent as the office job they're trying to escape. The thing parents and caregivers actually need — schedule control — got lost in the noise.

FlexCareers exists to filter for that specific need. Every role we surface is evaluated against one question: could a parent doing a school pickup at 3pm and a daycare run at 5pm actually do this job without lying to anyone? If the answer is no, the role doesn't make it onto the board.

How we curate

  1. We pull listings from public, employer-published feeds — the same listings the company posted themselves.
  2. We tag each role against a flexibility rubric: async-friendly, part-time, contract, low-meeting, parent-friendly language, fully remote.
  3. We rewrite the framing on each job page through a working-parent lens, with interview questions you can actually use.
  4. We never sit between you and the employer. Apply links go directly to the company. We don't take a placement fee, collect resumes, or run our own ATS.

What "flexibility" means here

We use a deliberately narrow definition. A role is flexible in our sense if it satisfies at least one of:

  • Part-time hours, contract work, or fractional engagements where you control your week.
  • Fully asynchronous communication norms — no expectation of being available in real-time during specific hours.
  • Output-evaluated rather than presence-evaluated — you're judged on what you ship, not whether your status dot is green.
  • Explicit accommodation for parental responsibilities in the company's stated culture or benefits.

Roles that only meet a vague "remote" bar without one of the above don't qualify. We'd rather show you 50 truly flexible roles than 5,000 generic remote postings.

Who builds FlexCareers

FlexCareers is independently operated by a small team of working parents who got tired of mining LinkedIn for the rare job that actually fit their lives. The site is ad-supported (you'll see those slots throughout) and free for candidates. We don't sell your data, your resume, or your email address — partly because we don't collect any of those things.

How to support us

The most useful thing you can do is share a specific job with someone you know who'd benefit. The second most useful thing is to tell employers, when you interview, that you found them through FlexCareers — that's how we get more parent-friendly roles to surface.
